In contrast to the previous review, this is a novel that I absolutely loved. There were sections that I felt were a little bogged down, but overall, this book had me gripped from the first chapter.

Have just got home from POA with minnie13 and jazzmolloy. Bumped into ex-fiancee there with new girlfriend which was mildly amusing. Bumped into Maffyb, vayshti's other half with his mum there afterwards, which was good, as he is very cool.

Now, the movie, and yes, yes, I will spoiler cut! >:0

Eye candy. That's about it. Very little plot. Very little originality. But eye candy. And fun. Leave your brain at home.

However, this is the best review of Van Helsing ever. Really. Go read. You'll laugh a fuck lot.

Baring in mind that we had no idea that there was a movie marathon of all three films, and the cinema was surprisingly empty, I was expecting to get good seats. Alas, such was not the case. Now, I used to work for GU Corp, and their seats are generally VERY comfy. We obviously got the crappiest, least comfortable cinema with the worst sound system ( Read more... )

I saw this rather enchanting film with ecologist a few days before Xmas. As far as adaptations of the story goes, this is a pretty damn good one. A lot of the adult subtext is kept, which the author of the original book (Whats his name?
